description

Unlike the usual alphabetical order, which is independent from meaning, the IEML alphabetical order is reasoned. It expresses essentially an order of « substantiality ». The notions of substantiality and of order of substantiality are the basis of the numerical addressing proposed by IEML. See on this subject the introductory document in the section « vision ». 1) Processes and actions, of pragmatic nature, are less « substantial » than entities and representations, of semantic nature. The poles O (set of pragmatic elements – or « pragmatic dialectic ») and M (set of semantic elements – or « semantic dialectic ») are always arranged by order of increasing substantiality, that is to say O first and M in second rank. The combinations of two poles (event types) represent sets of flows between the elements of these two poles, sources-elements for the left pole and destination-elements for the right pole. The combinaisons of four poles (cycles) represent sets of flows between events of event types. 2) The elements U, A, S, B, T are also always arranged by increasing substantiality order. Among the pragmatic elements, the virtual U is less substantial than the actual A, and among the semantic elements the sign S is less substantial than the thing T, while the being B occupies an intermediary position. 3) The IEML alphabetic order of the events is a little bit more complex.- Events are first ordered by types.- Inside each of the four types they are arranged by order of substantiality of their sources.- Then, the events of same source are arranged by substantiality order of their destinations. OO: wo, wa, wu, we | OM: y, o, e, u, a, i | MO: j, g, h, c, p, x | MM: s, b, t, k, m, n, d, f, l.
