First International IEML Workshop

The first International IEML workshop will be held in Montreal the 21, 22, 24 and 25 of september at the University of Montreal in the margins of EUROPIA (International conference on design sciences and technology).

The workshop is organised by the Canada Research Chair in Collective Intelligence at the University of Ottawa and the Paragraph Lab at the University of Paris-8. The main goal of the workshop is to foster practical information exchange between people involved in the developement of IEML ontologies for real-life projects.

NB : neither fee nor inscription are required

Hours : from 10 AM to 5 PM with a lunch break

The workshop will include :

1) An introduction to the last version of IEML grammar (Pierre Levy)

2) The basic methodology for IEML words, matrixes and ontologies creation (Pierre Levy)

3) A presentation of the "dixieme famille" ontology project (Samuel Szoniecki and Yann Baranovski)

4) A presentation of the ICEA adult learning ontology project (Jean-Marie Ladouceur, Françoise Lefebvre).

Future projects of ontologies and software development will be discussed, mainly in the asian and latino-american worlds.

The last day of the workshop (25th september) will be devoted to the stabilization of the IEML syntax, with the participation of the topic map specialists Steve Newcomb and Michel Biezunski.
